Mission Alive believes that the heart of leadership is leading others to listen and follow God.  Helping others discover what does it mean to follow Jesus by repeatedly asking two key questions: (1) What is God saying to me? (2) What am I going to do about it? Our growth as disciples demands intentionality and benefits from accountability.  At the core, the church is a community of disciples learning to live the life of the Spirit. For this reason, Mission Alive is equipping church leaders to develop intentional discipleship in their local congregation. If you hunger for a revitalized faith, if you want to learn how to spiritually develop others, then you are looking for Mission Alive’s Discipleship Cohorts.

Discipleship cohorts are small communities of 4-8 people who meet in a weekly video conference to pursue intentional discipleship.  The level I curriculum lasts 6 months covering the following topics:

  • Be Disciples - Gaining a deeper understanding of discipleship and balancing invitation & challenge
  • Identity - Delving deeply into our own sources of identity
  • Discernment - Learning to grow through kairos moments
  • Rhythm - Living a balanced life of up, in, and out
  • Fruitfulness - Understanding the relationship between abiding, rest, and fruitfulness
  • Oikos - Learning to recognize people of peace and extending hospitality
